The return of the chough to kent (a jackdaw sized corvid with red feet and bill)

It’s been reintroduced to the white cliffs of Dover after 3 long years.

It’s a bird found in the coat of arms of Canterbury since legend suggests it got its red ness through dipping and pecking in the blood of Thomas a beckett.

This has been made into a song called ‘Return of the bloodied Crow’ by Milton Hide – due for release on the your Stories In Song album. Was entered into the pFite24 competition 2024. Picked up by Kent Wildlife trust and press release put out. Met member of KWT on the Restore nature Now march in June 2024, one of whom was also dressed as a chough.
