Ashdown Forest Drive.

tree lined lane

I drove under the arched trees,
Sheltered by their golden and red canopy.
I missed the bumps as I climbed the hills,
To look down for miles and miles.
The beauty of a carpet of gold and green,
lay before me like a film scene.
The twisting roads of the forest,
turned in knots like my heart.
I realised I may not have much,
but all of nature’s view before me,
was as free as the birds flying overhead.
The black swirl toing and froing above,
At that moment the ferns of the forest
were my home.
